Incident Summary Thursday 21st June Day Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Thursday 21st June Day Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Topcliffe Road, Rainton: time of call 08.23

Appliances from Bedale and Ripon were sent to reports of a 2 vehicle Road traffic collision. On arrival crews found all occupants out of the vehicles suffering from minor injuries only and nobody trapped. Crews made the vehicles safe and cleared the road way.

Kent Road, Harrogate: time of call 09.25

Harrogate crew were sent to a boiler leak that was affecting electrics within a domestic property. Fire brigade isolated the water and electric supply and left the incident in hands of the occupier.

Selby: time of call 09.38

An Appliance from Tadcaster station and 2 appliances from Selby station were mobilised to reports of an agricultura  l building on fire with animals inside the building. On arrival crews found a small rubbish fire only and used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish, no buildings or animals were affected by the fire.

A19 between Cleveland and Ellerbeck: time of call 11.44

2 x appliances from Northallerton, an appliance from Stokesley, an Incident Support Unit from Ripon and an officer attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle. Crews used hydraulic cutting gear to release 1 male casualty who was trapped and was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

Selby: time of call 11.46

Selby attended a small garden bonfire that had spread to fence and hedge, crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish and provided advice to the occupier.

Barmby Avenue, York: time of call 12.47

A crew from were mobilised to assist the ambulance service with an elderly gentleman who had got his hand stuck in a golf trolley.

Great Ayton: time of call 14.12

Crews from Northallerton, Danby, Coulby Newham, a high volume pump from Richmond and an Argocat vehicle from Kirkbymoorside were sent to a moor fire on Great Ayton Moor.

 ***This incident is still ongoing

Update 6pm

We originally attended this incident on the afternoon of 21st June and the incident remained ongoing. It involves approximately 1000sqm of undergrowth on fire. Crews are using jets and the argocat.

Update 11pm

Crews stayed until dark damping down flames with beaters and knapsacks. An officer will be reassessing the incident at 07:30am.

False Alarms

 North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service also attended automatic fire alarms across the county during the day shift in Ripon, Scarborough & York.
