Incident Summary Night Shift Friday 16th February 2018
Crews have attended automatic fire alarms in York, Pickering and Boroughbridge this evening. Thankfully these were a false alarm.
Outgang Road, Pickering
Time of call: 18:25
A crew from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside have attended a strong smell of burning coming from a laundry room in a residential property. Crews investigated the smell using a thermal imaging camera and found it to come from a tumble dryer. Crews dismantled the dryer and found an excessive amount of dust inside causing the smell of burning during operation. Crews gave advice to the occupiers.
Main Street, Riccall

A crew from Selby have attended reports of a strong smell of burning coming from a log burner in a residential property. Crews found that soot from the chimney breast had fallen down into the log burner. Crews used a thermal imaging camera and hearth kit.
Duke Street, Settle

A crew from Settle have attended a fire alarm sounding in a residential property. Crews gave advice to the occupier after discovering the alarm sounded due to cooking fumes.
Muston Road, Filey

A crew from Filey have attended reports of a motorbike leaking fuel onto the road. Crews made the motorcycle safe and used drizit pads to mop up the spilt fuel.
Mill Lane, Pickering

Pickering fire appliance responded to a fire alarm activation in a swimming pool which was found to be due to a power supply fault.
Main Street, Little Ouseburn

Boroughbridge crew responded to a fire alarm activation in sheltered accommodation due to burnt toast.

Crews from Harrogate responded to a request from the Ambulance service to assist with a fallen female inside a domestic premises.
Whitcliffe Avenue, Ripon

Ripon firecrew extinguished a fire to a mobile advertising sign using a hosereel jet.
