Incident Summary – Night Shift

 Wednesday 20th December

 Assist Ambulance – Little Moor Close, Cloughton

Time of call: 1843 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to assist Ambulance gain entry to a property after they were unable to rouse the elderly occupant. On our arrival it was established the occupant was now residing in a nursing home. No action taken by fire crews.

 House fire – Howe End, Kirkbymoorside

Time of call: 2109 hours

Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Helmsley have dealt with a fire in a 3 storey terraced residential property. The fire started in the ground floor living room which suffered fire, heat and smoke damage. The adjacent dining room suffered fire, heat and smoke damage and the remainder of the property suffered smoke damage. The cause is believed deliberate. Fire crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 2 thermal imaging cameras, triple extension ladder, lighting and a positive pressure ventilation fan.

 Assist Ambulance – New Road, Scotton

Time of call: 2213 hours

A crew from Knaresborough has been called to assist an Ambulance crew with a large patient. The crew used manpower to move the patient from a caravan to the ambulance.

 False alarm – Tanner Row, York

Time of call: 2332 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a retail unit. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 Thursday 21st  December

 False alarm – Park Parade, Harrogate

Time of call: 0034 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

 False alarm – West Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 0341 hours

Scarborough firecrews responded to a report from one of the occupants of a building comprising a number of flats stating that the buildings smoke alarms were sounding with residents evacuating the premises. Firecrews forced entry into a flat and found the male occupant asleep in bed, his unattended cooking chicken nuggets giving off sufficient cooking fumes to activate the alarm.
