Incident Summary –

 Night Shift Friday 22nd December

 False alarm – Glasshouses

Time of call: 1723 hours

Crews from Summerbridge and Ripon have been called to reports of a smell of smoke in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to fumes from a overheated light switch. Advice given to occupier to contact an electrician.

 False alarm – Slottowe Close, Great Ayton

Time of call: 1725 hours

Crews from Stokesley and Coulby Newham have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 False alarm – Nathan Court, Scarborough

Time of call: 1908 hours

Crews from Scarborough have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 False alarm – Fordlands Crescent, York

Time of call: 1922 hours

York crew has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault in the detection system.

 Effect entry – The Avenue, Norton

Time of call: 2125 hours

A crew from Malton has effected entry to a residential property after the female occupant locked herself out of the property, leaving the oven turned on. Crew used hand tools to gain access via wooden back door and turned oven off.

 Flooding - Gale Lane, York

Time of call: 2157 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to water leaking through a ceiling in a commercial property due to a tap being left running in the room above. As a result part of the ceiling had collapsed. Fire crew gave advice to staff and advised for an engineer to attend to inspect the smoke detector in the affected room.

 False alarm – Whitby Road, Pickering

Time of call: 0053 hours

A crew from Pickering has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to due to a fault in the detection system.

Time of call: 0158 hours

A crew from Pickering has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to due to a fault in the detection system.

 Fire to moped and fencing  – Prospect Crescent, Scarborough

Time of call: 0232 hours

Crews  from Scarborough responded to reports of a moped on fire which had spread to adjacent wooden fencing. The fire was extinguished by use of a hosereel jet.
