Incident Summary – Night Shift – Monday 28th May 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

17:45  False Alarm – Low Ousegate York.

York crews attended reports of a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm believed to have been caused by a system fault. 

18:19  False Alarm – Wain’s Road, York.

Acomb crews attended reports of a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm believed to have been caused by cooking fumes

18:25  False Alarm – Coldyhill Lane, Scarborough

Scarborough crews attended reports of smoke in the area, this was controlled burning under supervision. Crews gave advice to the occupant.

20:36  Fire on Oven Hob – Woodlands Drive, Harrogate

Harrogate crews attended a plastic plate on fire on a hob. It is believed the plate had been left on the hob. The fire was out on arrival of the crews extinguished by the occupant prior to arrival.

20:38  False Alarm – Knaresborough

Knaresborough crews have attended a fire alarm sounding this was a false alarm caused by the accidental actuation of a fire call point.

20:49  Road Traffic Collision – A65, Near Skipton

Skipton appliance attended a single vehicle Road Traffic Collision. Crews used hydraulic equipment to open the car door to allow the occupants to get out of the vehicle themselves. Two occupants went to hospital, believed to have been suffering minor injuries.

21:00  False Alarm – Kildwick

Skipton crews attended reports of a property fire.  This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes

22:16  Fire in the Open – Beverly Road, Norton

Malton crews attended a large fire in the open involving tree brashings. Crews used 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire and will be revisiting the incident.

22:38 Pig Barn Fire - Sutton on the Forest

Four fire appliances and two water bowsers responded to a fire in a pig barn containing approx. 1400 piglets. Two fire appliances and one water bowser are still at the scene.

00:46  False Alarm – Clifton Street Scarborough

Scarborough Crews attended reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm believed to have been caused by deliberate activation of the break glass.

02:24  Fire in the Open – Valley Gardens, Harrogate

Harrogate crew extinguished a deliberate fire in the open to rubbish.

03:43 Bin fire - Bower Street, Harrogate

Harrogate crew extinguished a deliberate fire to a large refuse bin.

05:23  Fire in the open –  Ingleton

Bentham fire appliance have extinguished a fire left unattended to old household waste and wood in a yard.
