Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 30th March

 In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Chimney fire – Main Street, High Bentham

Time of call: 1705 hours

A crew from Bentham has been called to a chimney fire in a domestic property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot and debris. Crew used a 13.5m ladder, chimney rods and small tools.

 Chimney fire – Colburn Lane, Colburn

Time of call: 1718 hours

A crew from Colburn has been called to a chimney fire in a domestic property. The cause is believed to an ill fitting flue. Crew used a thermal imaging camera, hose reel adaptor, chimney rods, reciprocating saw and lighting.

 Chimney fire – off Lumby Hill, Hillam

Time of call: 1928 hours

A crew from Selby has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. Although the fire was out on our arrival, crew used a thermal imaging camera and lighting to carry out an inspection. The cause is believed to be an incorrectly fitted log burner.

 Rubbish fire – off the A168, Topcliffe

Time of call: 1936 hours

Crews from Thirsk and Ripon have been called to reports of a barn fire. On arriving on the scene this was established to be a rubbish fire approx. 3m by 3m of agricultural waste and a tractor tyre. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish.

 False alarm good intent – Butler Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 2009 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of a fire in the open. This was controlled burning under supervision. Advice given.

 Lift rescue – Royal Parade, Harrogate

Time of call: 2120 hours

A crew from Harrogate has rescued 6 people who were stuck in a stalled lift. The crew used lift keys and all persons were released uninjured.
