Incident summary Tuesday 14th August Night Shift

Please see below a round up of incidents from Tuesday 14th August Night Shift.

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

A63, Selby Fork – TOC: 17.27

An appliance from Selby dealt with a bale on fire in a field. The crew used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area. It is believed the cause of the fire was deliberate.

Allerston, Pickering – TOC: 17.38

Crews from Pickering and Sherburn were mobilised to a fire alarm sounding within a residential property. This turned out be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. Crews ventilated the property and carried out a home risk assessment.

Tadcaster Road, York – TOC:18.02

Acomb appliance attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by an unknown fault on system.

Ramsay Close, York – TOC 18.32

York and Acomb were sent to reports of a fire in a ground floor toilet at a residential premises. The fire was out on arrival and crews carried out an inspection only. The cause of this fire was deliberate.

 Dodsworth Avenue, York – TOC: 21.10

York and Acomb were sent to reports of a fire alarm at a residential address. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by a fault on system. No action taken by the fire service.

North Street, York – TOC: 21.38

York crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial address. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by dust from workmen.

Knavesmire Wood, York – TOC: 02.32

York attended a small fire measuring 2 square metres or household rubbish at the above location. The crew used beaters and buckets of water to extinguish. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

The Green, Upper Poppleton – TOC: 03.47

York and Acomb attended a smell of burning inside a property under renovation. After a thorough search of the premises, crews found no sign of fire.
