Incident summary - Day shift Wednesday 17th October

16th October 2018

Glen Avenue, York - Time of call 07:45


Fire crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of an electrical heater on fire in a domestic property. Crews confirmed an electrical fault in the heater had caused the fire. Approx 80% fire damage to bedroom, crews extinguished fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. Male and female occupants of property suffered from smoke inhalation and crews administered oxygen to them until arrival of Paramedics. 

Cross Lane, Flaxton - Time of call 10:11


Huntington Fire crews responded to a motorbike fire. Cause of fire was believed to be an electrical fault. Fire was extinguished by a passing motorist using a dry powder extinguisher.

Barlby Road, Selby - Time Of call 14:53


Selby boat crew assisted Police with a deceased Calf in the river near the swing bridge.  Crews removed calf using the inflatable sled.

West Knapton - Time of call 16:32


Malton fire crews assisted a broken down vehicle on a level crossing, crews pushed vehicle to safety.


In addition to the above incidents crews responded to several smoke alarm activations across the County. All were false alarms.
