Incident Summary – Night Shift Wednesday 31st October

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – Selby

Time of call: 1639 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Rescue – Strensall

Time of call: 1815 hours

2 crews from Huntington have rescued a female after she fell into a well. The lady (60’s) had fallen almost 5m into the 1m diameter well and was standing on the bottom, waist deep in water. Crew used a triple extension ladder to allow the female to climb out and administered first aid to a head injury until the ambulance arrived.

Special service – Goodramgate, York

Time of call: 1835 hours

A crew from York has removed a lock from a bicycle to allow a female to ride home after she lost her key. Crew used bolt croppers.

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 2309 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to activation of a break glass point.

Fire – Huby

Time of call: 0329 hours

6 fire crews from Easingwold, Huntington, Acomb, York & Tadcaster, along with the water bowser from Boroughbridge have dealt with a large shed on fire. Breathing apparatus and numerous hose reels used. Incident currently being scaled down. ***INCIDENT ONGOING – UPDATE TO FOLLOW***

10am A crew remain at the scene and are watching for hot spots and flare ups at the site. 

False alarm – Whitby

Time of call: 0601 hours

A crew from Whitby has been called to reports of a fire in the engine bay of boat in the harbour. This was a false alarm due to oil leaking onto the hot engine. Thermal imaging camera used for inspection only.

False alarm – Rillington

Time of call: 0611 hours

A crew from Malton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault.
