Round up of incidents – Night Shift Sunday 22nd May

Hansom Place, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a domestic premises. Crews investigated the reports and were able to confirm there was no fire. The alarm had been activated due to cooking fumes. Advice given to occupant.

Manor Vale Lane, Kirkbymoorside

Fire crews from Kirkbymoorside responded to reports of flood water entering a domestic property. Crews used light portable pumps to redirect water to clear drains. Blocked drains cleared. No further action required

Melmerby Industrial Estate, Melmerby, Nr Ripon

Fire crews from Ripon attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there to be no fire. The alarm was sounding but the alarm was a false one and fire service was not required.

Heslington, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a residential block of accommodation. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there was no fire at the property. Crews investigated the source of the alarm and were able to confirm cooking fumes had caused the alarm to sound. Advice was given to the occupant.

 Kirk Road, Romanby

Fire crews from Northallerton attended reports of a smoke alarm sounding at domestic premises. When crews arrived they confirmed there was no fire at the property. Crews confirmed there was a fault on the alarm system. No further action taken by fire crew, occupants to call engineers to site.

Wigginton Road, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at commercial premises down Wigginton Road. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there was no fire. The crews investigated and confirmed the alarm had activated due to a system fault. Engineers to attend site.

Museum Street, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a commercial property down Museum Street. When crews arrived they were able to investigate the cause of the alarm sounding. There was no fire at the property but the alarm was faulty. Premises owners to contact engineers.

East Parade, Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough attended reports of a smell of burning in a residential property. Fire crews investigated the reports and were able to confirm there was no fire. The smell had been caused by faulty electrics which had blown. Occupants given advice and will be getting electrician to attend premises.
