Round up of incidents – Day Shift 1st June

Station Road, Horton In Ribblesdale

Fire crews from Settle attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a residential property. When crews arrived they investigated the cause of the alarm sounding and were able to confirm there was no fire. Further investigation confirmed the alarm had sounded due to a system fault. Engineers to be called to site.

Hansom Place, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a residential premises on Hansom Place. When crews arrived they confirmed there were no signs of fire. Crews were able to confirm that the alarm had been activated due to fumes from an aerosol being sprayed.

Selby Road, Eggborough

Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a commercial property on Selby Road. When crews arrived they investigated the alarm cause and confirmed there was no fire. Further investigation confirmed the cause of the alarm was heat given off by a portable heater. Advice given to occupants of property.

Wigginton Road, York

Crews from York responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding at a health care premises. Crew were able to promptly ascertain the cause of the alarm sounding.

The premises had been carrying out cleaning and the fumes had entered the alarm system. Advice given to staff.

Nr The Buckles Inn, A64, Askham Richard

Fire crews from Tadcaster attended reports of a vehicle fire near The Buckles. When crews arrived they inspected the vehicle and were able to establish the smoke was coming from an overheated clutch. The vehicle was not on fire, just overheated.

Westwood, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises at Scarborough. When crews arrived they were able to establish there was no fire. The alarm had been activated by steam which had been near the detector head.

 Hall Green Lane, North Rigton

Fire crews from Harrogate attended reports of a small rubbish fire in the open.  When crews arrived, they inspected the area and were able to confirm the fire was extinguished. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.  

Cambridge Crescent, Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate attended a commercial premises where persons were trapped in a lift. Crews attended the premises and released 3 people from the lift.
