Round up of incidents – Night Shift 4th June

Hillcrest Gardens, York

Fire crews from Acomb attended reports of a smoke alarm sounding at a domestic property. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there was no fire. The alarm was activated by fumes from a lawnmower.

Wolsley Street, York

Fire crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of a cooker on fire at a domestic property. When crews arrived they carried out a thorough inspection of the premises. They confirmed the fire to be out and no further action was necessary by fire crews. The fire was caused by a build up of fat on the cooker.

St Wulstan Close, York.

Fire in kitchen of private house.  Fire started in cooker causing food stuff to be destroyed. The fire was contained in oven, no further fire damage to property. Fire crew’s from Acomb and Huntington ensured fire was fully extinguished and carried out an inspection of the property. Advice given to occupants. Fire is believed to have been caused by food left in oven too long.

Follifoot Nr Harrogate

Fire crews from Harrogate attended a commercial residential premises near Follifoot where the fire alarm was sounding. When crews arrived they carried out a full inspection of the premises. They were able to confirm there was no fire. 

Rawcliffe Croft, York

Fire crews from Acomb and York attended reports of a shed fire on Rawcliffe Court. When crews arrived on scene they extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet and wearing breathing apparatus. Extensive fire damage was caused to the shed and some further fire damage was caused to the garage window and guttering nearby. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Mount View Avenue, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended a residential property where the fire alarm was sounding. When crews arrived they inspected the property and confirmed there was no fire. The alarm was confirmed to be a false alarm, fire service were not required. Advice given
