Round up of incidents –   Night Shift Sunday 15th May

Bur Dyke Beck, Sutton Way, York

Fire crews from York and Huntington attended reports of 2 youths stuck in mud in Bur Dyke Beck. When crews arrived, they liaised with other emergency services at scene. The youths had managed to free themselves from the mud prior to emergency crews arriving. No action required by fire crew.

 Queens Road, Richmond

Fire crews from Richmond attended health care premises on Queens Road where there were reports of 2 people stuck in a lift. The crew were able to release 2 people from the lift and into care of health workers.  Engineers to attend the premises. No further action by fire crew

Paragon Street, York

Fire crews from York attended commercial premises where the automatic fire alarm was sounding. When crews arrived they inspected the premises and confirmed there was no fire. Following investigations it was confirmed that the alarm was sounding due to synthetic smoke causing the alarm to activate. Advice given to premises by fire crew.

 Hull Road, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of a fire in the open down Alcuin Ave. When crews arrived they found a grass fire. Crews extinguished the fire with buckets of water. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Near Brough Park, Nr Colburn, Richmond

Fire crews from Colburn were called to reports of a fire in the open. When crews located the incident, they were able to confirm the incident to be controlled burning under supervision. No further action required.

Green Close, Clapham

Fire crews from Settle were mobilised to reports of a fire in the open.  Crews proceeded to the location given and were able to investigate the area. They confirmed the fire to be controlled burning under supervision. No further action required.

Tindall Street, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough attended a wheelie bin fire. This was deliberate. Crews used a hose reel jet. Police are investigating this incident.

Church Walk, Buttercrambe

Fire crews from York and Huntington attended a shed fire that was well alight. On arrival of crews it transpired that there were three outbuildings well alight. The fire was put out using two hose reel jets. The cause of this fire is being investigated by a Fire Investigation Officer

Rowntree Avenue, York

Fire crews from Acomb attended reports of a strong smell of cooking in some flats. On arrival crews found that an occupant’s oven had been left on for some time unattended. Crews made the oven safe and gave advice to the occupant.

Valley Bridge Parade, Scarborough

Fire crew from Scarborough attended reports of a fire in the open on Valley Bridge Parade. When crews arrived, they extinguished a small rubbish fire with a hose reel jet. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
