Incident Summary –  Day Shift 19th July

Toc:  0817 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Brackenhill Close, Selby. Selby Crew attended.  Cause fault on system.

Toc:  1017 Hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Station Road, Haxby.  Huntington Crew attended.  Cause accidental activation of break glass point.

Toc:  1104 hours – Reports of Plastic table on fire, Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherley.  Northallerton Crew attended.  This was a good intent due to bbq in use and properly supervised no fire.

Toc:  1129 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Hungate, York.  York Crews attended.  Cause of alarm fault on system.

Toc:  1204 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Roseworth, Great Broughton.  Stokesley Crews attended.  Cause of alarm burnt cooking.

Toc:  1239 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Staynor Link, Selby.  Cause of alarm, fault on system.

Toc:  1352 hours – Female in her 70s had fallen on the road and cut her head, John Street, Filey.  Filey Crew attended.  Crews assisted off duty paramedic with casualty care until the arrival of the ambulance.  Female was taken to Hospital by road ambulance.

Toc:  1403 hours – Garage Fire, Deer Hill Grove, York.  Crews from Huntington and Acomb attended.  Single Storey garage fire, suffered 80% fire damage. Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and small tools to deal with the fire. 1 male occupant suffering burns to both feet and smoke inhalation.  Crews administered oxygen until arrival of the ambulance.

Toc:  1438 hours – Freezer on fire inside caravan. Long Street, Topcliffe.  Crews from Thirsk attended.  Small freezer fire out on arrival of Fire Service.  Oil burner had been knocked onto freezer and set alight.  Crews checked area over and removed freezer to outside.  5% fire damage to freezer and cabinet surrounding it.  Crews administered first aid to 70 year old female suffering from minor burns to hand and shock until the arrival of the ambulance.

Toc:  1600 hours – Electric Meter Box on Fire, Birch Park, Huntington. York Crews attended.  Incident involved a blow torch being used to melt tar.  Wind caught the flame from the blow torch setting fire to approximately 8 metres of hedgerow which then set fire to an Electric Meter box causing 100% fire damage to the box.
