Incident Summary - Night Shift 13th March

Summary of Incidents – 13th March, Night Shift

Toc:  1714 hours, Outside Yorkshire Co-Operative Store, 1 year old child locked in vehicle with keys.

Pickering dealt with a 1 year old child locked in a car accidentally. Crew used coat hanger and small tools to open the door and release the child unharmed.

Toc:  1912 hours, Fire in Kitchen, Victoria Road, Scarborough

Scarborough Crew attended.  Fire involving a toaster in a kitchen of a property.  Fire was out on arrival.  The cause of the fire was due a loose piece of metal inside the toaster which had caused a spark.  The fire had caused 50% fire damage to the toaster and 5% fire damage to the kitchen consisting of a worktop and kitchen cupboard.  There was also 30% smoke damage to the kitchen.  Crews used a thermal imaging camera.

Toc:  1954 hours, Smoke coming from a commercial premises.  William Street Car Park, Wrea Lane, Scarborough

Two Fire Engines, Scarborough.  Steam from boiler mistaken for smoke.

Toc:  1956 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Tadcaster Road, York

York Crews attended. Cause fault on system.

Toc:  1958 hours, Chy Fire area of Southfield Terrace,Skipton

Skipton Crews attended.  No chimney fire found.

Toc: 2020 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Nunnington Crescent. Harrogate

Harrogate Crews attended.  Cause of the alarm was the stair lift alarm,  mistaken for a smoke alarm.

Toc:  2145 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Mill Race, Broughton

Skipton attended, cause of alarm dust in detector head.

Toc:  2212 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Church Street, Wetherby

Tadcaster Crew attended along with a Crew from Wetherby.  Cause of Alarm, faulty detector head.

Toc:  2314 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Common Lane, Church Fenton

Tadcaster Crew attended. Cause of alarm sounding was it was faulty.  Crews fitted a new smoke alarm.

Toc:  2323 hours, Flooding into flat, Albert Street, Scarborough

Scarborough Crew attended.  Small water leak, landlord of building contacted and advised to contact a plumber.

Toc:  2328 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, East Parade, Harrogate.

Harrogate Crew Attended.  Alarm was maliciously activated.

Toc:  2342 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Lancaster Park Road, Harrogate.

Harrogate Crew attended.  Alarm was maliciously activated.

Toc:  0009 hours, Building on Fire in a field Stocking Lane, Kellingley

1 Appliance from Selby and 1 Appliance from Pontefract attended.  Refuse fire which had spread to a pylon dealt with by Pontefract Crew.

Toc:  0044 hours, Bin on Fire, Marine Drive, Scarborough

 Scarborough Crews attended.  Bin Fire, Cause deliberate, crews used 1 hose reel.

 Toc:  0100 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Residential Premises, Thorpe Underwood.

 Boroughbridge attended.  Cause dust in detector head.

 Toc:  0127 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Residential Premises, Mill Race, Broughton

 Skipton attended.  Cause fault on system.

 Toc:  0217 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Tadcaster Road, York

 York Crew attended. Cause of Alarm fault on system.
