Summary of Incidents for Sunday 10th January from 0800 to 1800 hrs

Lift Release - Church Square, Harrogate

0756 hrs  Crews from Harrogate released one elderly lady stuck in a lift using lift keys.

AFA - Broughton, Skipton

0818 hrs  Crews from Skipton attended an automatic fire alarm which resulted in a false alarm due to a fault

Flooding inside premises - Ripley Drive, Harrogate

1053  hrs  Crews from Harrogate carried out salvage work in a flat which had rain water leaking through a damaged flat roof

Fewston Drive, York - Washing Machine on Fire

1158 hrs  Crews from Huntington and York attended a washing machine on fire which was out on arrival. Crews disconnected the machine.

Brawby Lane, Brawby, Malton - Vehicle stuck in flood water

1201 hrs  Crews from Malton and Kirkbymoorside assisted one male, one female and a baby from a vehicle stuck in floodwater using a boat.  All three occupants were taken to safety on dry land.

Main Street, Leavening - Chimney Fire

1216 hrs  Crews from Malton attended a Chimney fire.  They extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Chantry Road, Romanby, Northallerton - AFA

1236 hrs  Crews from Northallerton attended an automatic fire alarm, this resulted in a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

York Fire Station, York - Ring Removal

1312 hrs  Crews removed a ring from a lady's finger using ring cutters

Howard Street, Scarborough - AFA

1335 hrs  Crews from Scarborough attended an automatic fire alarm which resulted in a false alarm

Brawby Lane, Brawby, Malton - Humanitarian Assistance

1359 hrs  Crews from Kirkbymoorside assisted a lady across flood water in a boat to deliver emergency food and medication to elderly relatives in the next village which had been cut off by flood water.

Heslaker Lane, Carleton,  Skipton - Van stuck in Floodwater

1414 hrs  Crews from Skipton assisted one male from van stuck in floodwater to safety

East Hauxwell, Leyburn - Cooker Fire

1429 hrs  Crews from Richmond and Colburn attended a slow cooker which had caught fire in a kitchen.  Slight fire damage to slow cooker.  The fire was out on arrival.  The cause was due to slow cooker being left on a hob which had accidentally been turned on.

Park Avenue, Sutton - Humanitarian Request

1550 hrs  Crews from Skipton assisted an elderly female from first floor to ground floor due to a broken stair lift.  

River Nidd, Dacre - Dog in River

1607 hrs  Crews from Summerbridge and Ripon are currently assisting in the search for a dog that has been swept away in the River Nidd.   Further update..... dog called Bill found his way home and is safe and sound!
