False Alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 1743

A crew from York attended an automatic fire alarm from a residential property. They found that there had been a small fire in a microwave which was out on arrival.

 

False Alarm – Victoria Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1752

A crew from Scarborough attended reports of youths setting fire to mattresses and other rubbish in the open. The youths dispersed upon crews arrival. Fire crews will report mattresses to local authority for removal on Monday.

 

False Alarm – Main Road, Hellifield, Skipton

Time of call: 2035

A crew from Settle attended some controlled burning after reports that the contents of the burning were improper. Crews found that this was a false alarm, controlled burning under supervision.

 

Fire – Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough

Time of call: 2045

Crews from Scarborough, Filey, Robin Hoods Bay and Pickering together with the Aerial Ladder Platform from Scarborough attended reports of a fire in a block of flats of 4 storeys. They found that the fire originated in the ground floor flat bedroom. Cause is unknown at this stage. Crews found that there were no smoke detectors fitted in the flat however there were smoke alarms in the communal areas which activated and alerted residents. There was 80% fire damage to the bedroom .

 

Car Fire – B1222 Sherburn in Elmet

Time of call: 2054

A crew from Tadcaster attended reports of a car on fire between 2 roundabouts on the B1222 near Sherburn Enterprise Park. They found that there had been a fire in the electrical loom which had been caused by an electrical fault. The fire was out on arrival.

 

False Alarm – Eastfield, Scarborough

Time of call: 2242

A crew from Pickering attended reports of a fire in the open in the Eastfield area of Scarborough. They foun that this was a false alarm and was actually controlled burning under supervision.

 

False Alarm – East Layton

Time of call: 2326

A crew from Richmond attended a report of an automatic fire alarm activation from a commercial property in East Layton. They found that this was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

 

False Alarm – Bishopdyke Road, Tadcaster

Time of call: 0701

A crew from Tadcaster attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial property. They found that this was a false alarm due to a technical fault on the system.
