B1363, Oswaldkirk Time 08:39

 

 

 

Ambulance reported a single vehicle road traffic collision just south of Oswaldkirk with persons trapped inside. The vehicle was on its roof and unstable meaning that the ambulance crews couldn’t safely approach. Fire crews from Kirbymoorside and Malton attended and used their mounted winch to stabilise the vehicle allowing them to release the two casualties. The crews righted the vehicle afterwards and left the casualties with the Police and Ambulance.  

 

 

 

Gale Farm Court, York  Time 09:08

 

 

 

A crew from Acomb went to assist a person that was trapped in a lift. The crews gained access to the lift motor room and were able to open the lift doors from there. The person was then freed from the lift.

 

 

 

Church Street, Whitby  Time 10:42

 

 

 

A fire started at a commercial property in Whitby. Crews from Whitby Scarborough and Lythe attended. The crews found smoke coming from underneath floorboards of frying equipment at the premises. Crews investigated with engineer on site but were unable to determine the cause of the smoke. The crews waited to confirm that there were no further signs of fire or smoke and then gave safety advice for the owner and arranged to revisit the property later in the day.

 

 

 

Goat Lane, Stainforth  Time 11:27

 

 

 

Crews from Bentham and Settle attended a single vehicle road traffic collision where two elderly persons had become trapped after the vehicle had ended on its side. The vehicle is believed to have skidded on ice trapping the driver and passenger. Crews stabilised the vehicle and were then able to release the occupants. They were then checked over by paramedics on scene having suffered minor injuries and bruising.
