Incident Summary Wednesday 20th January Nightshift

Round up of incidents on the Night shift Wednesday 20th January

 Chimney fire – Main Street, Great Ouseburn

Time of call: 17:43.  Fire crews from Boroughbridge attended and inspected the chy with a thermal imaging camera to confirm the fire was out.

 Automatic fire alarm – Danesmead Close, York

Time of call: 17:49.  Fire crews from York attended but this incident turned out to be a false alarm.

 Residential fire – Bishop Thornton

Time of call: 17:56.  2 appliances and an aerial ladder platform from Harrogate and an appliance from Summerbridge attended reports of a chimney fire which had spread smoke into the loft space.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel to check the loft space for fire, the aerial ladder platform was used to gain access to the chimney pot and remove stonework to investigate fire spread.

 Automatic fire alarm – Windmill Lane, York

Time of call: 20:39.  Fire crews from York attended but this incident turned out to be a false alarm.

 Residential fire – Huntsman Lane, Stamford Bridge

Time of call: 21:35.  Fire crews from York and Huntington attended reports of a fire in a kitchen.  When the fire crews attended the fire which was in a bin had been removed by the occupant to the open air.  Firefighters fully extinguished the fire and ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan. 

 Automatic fire alarm – Thorpe Green Lane, Thorpe Underwood

Time of call: 23:52.  Fire crews from Boroughbridge attended but this incident turned out to be a false alarm.

 Smoke Plume spotted – In the area of Springfield Avenue, Harrogate

Time of call: 01:47.  Fire crews from Harrogate attended this incident but this tuned out to be a false alarm and was due to smoke from a boiler room.

 Automatic fire alarm – The Crescent, Castle, Scarborough

Time of call: 04:35.  Fire crews from Scarborough attended but this incident turned out to be a false alarm.

 Report of Fishing Vessel sinking – West Pier, Scarborough

Time of call: 05:56.  A Fire Officer attended report of a fishing trawler that had sunk in the harbour at West Pier.  Advice given to owner.  Liaison with Harbour Master being carried out regarding recovery.
