Incident Summary Night Shift - 24th May

24th May 2017

Sough Hill, Caldwell, Richmond. TOC: 16:31

Crews from Richmond and Colburn along with an officer were called to reports of a barn on fire. On arrival crews discovered a solar panel inverter on fire which had spread to the barn doors. Crews extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel, thermal imaging camera and ladders. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault on the solar panel system.

Grange Park Road, Ripon TOC: 18:53

A crew from Ripon were requested by the ambulance service to gain access to a property where an elderly female had fallen. Crews gained access by removing a glass panel from the door. Female left in care of paramedics for precautionary checks.

North Lane, Haxby TOC: 19:27

A crew from Huntington attended a fire alarm sounding in a commercial property on North Lane. On arrival the crews discovered the alarm was sounding due to a fault on the system.

Cygnet Court, Swan Hill Road, Scarborough TOC: 21:40

Crews from Scarborough were called to reports of a plug socket on fire in a flat. On arrival the crews discovered this was a false alarm good intent due to glow from extension cable light shining on to socket meaning the owner mistook it for glowing.

Beecher Stowe Drive, Brough With St Giles TOC: 05:06

Crews from Colburn and Richmond attended the above address and discovered a laptop which had caught fire under a bed. The fire was out on arrival of crews and caused a small amount of fire and smoke damage to the bedroom. Crews used thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault.

Leeds Road, Tadcaster TOC 05:13

A crew from Tadacster responded to an alarm sounding in commercial premises. On arrival it was discovered that the alarm had a fault on the system.
