Incident Summary - Day Shift 23rd February

23rd February 2016

Toc: 0838 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Industrial Premises, Wigginton Road.

 York Crew attended.  Cause outside contaminents.

 Toc: 0846 hours, Dog stuck down a badger hole, Sutton Bank

 Thorough search of area and badger holes carried out, no dog located.

 Toc:  1017 hours, Automatic Fire Alarm, Providence Place, Filey

 Filey Crew attended.  Cause of alarm contractors working on the system.

 Toc:  1018 hours, One Female, One Male attended Scarborough Fire Station for ring removal.

 Scarborough crews used a ring cutter to remove the rings from them both.

 Toc: 1056 hours, A61 Melmerby, LGV on fire carrying a fork lift truck.

Two Fire Crews from Ripon attended. The internal area of the cab was 70% destroyed by fire and the external area of the cab suffered 5% fire damage.  No fire damage to the trailer.  The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.  Crews used 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus used.

Toc: 1117 hours, Fire in Static Caravan, Reighton, Filey

Fire Crews from Filey and Scarborough attended. One static caravan on fire, fire caused 40% fire and 60% heat and smoke damage. Cause of the fire believed to be electrical, 2 hose reel jets, 1 breathing apparatus, thermal imaging camera and small tools used.

Toc: 1117 hours, Tipper Wagon on Fire, Osbaldwick, Helmsley.

Crews from Helmsley and Easingwold attended.  Fire involving a large goods vehicle carrying a trailer of oats.  100% fire damage to the lorry.  Cause of the fire believed to be mechanical.  Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, a length of soft suction and a thermal imaging camera to deal with the fire.

Toc:  1130 hours, Chimney Fire, Undercliffe, Pickering.

Pickering crew attended.  There was no fire on arrival, crews used thermal imaging camera to investigate. Cause believed to be a blow back from the chimney.

Toc: 1343 hours, West Close, Carthorpe.

House fire, Crews from Bedale and Masham attended. Bungalow heavily smoke logged, fire crews rescued 2 dogs wearing breathing apparatus. Cause of fire, pyrex dish with dog food left on ceramic hob, dog jumped up and accidentally turned hob on.  Fire caused 100% fire damage to contents of pyrex dish and 100% smoke damage to whole of property.  Smoke alarms fitted and did actuate. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet.

Toc:  1406 hours, Filey Road, Gristhorpe.

Single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Large Goods Vehicle.  Filey crew attended, no persons trapped, Fire Service not required.

Toc:  1423 hours, Single Vehicle Road Traffic Collision.  

Crew from York attended. Single vehicle into a brick wall, no persons trapped. Driver of vehicle left in care of paramedics.  No action by Fire Service.
