Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 17th December

17th December 2017

Time: 0820 - Cropton, near Pickering - Flooding in premises

Crews from Pickering attended a three storey property which had sustained flooding due to cold weather causing a defect in the pipework.   Flooding caused three ceilings to collapse.  The owner had isolated the water supply prior to arrival of the fire service.  Crews assisted with making the scene safe and drained water from a second water tank in the loft.  They also assisted with salvage operations.

Time: 0908 - Binns Lane, Glusburn - Wooden Beam on fire

Crews from Skipton attended a property in Glusburn after a wooden lintel on a woodburner had been on fire.  Crews cut away using small tools and investigated for hot spots.

In addition crews from Knaresborough, Pickering, Richmond, Harrogate, Boroughbridge and Ripon all attended several automatic fire alarms which all resulted in false alarms
