Incident Summary –  Day Shift 20th July

Toc:  0807 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Hungate Court, Hunmanby, Filey.  Filey Crews attended.  Cause of alarm cooking fumes.

Toc:  0932 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Bootham, York.  York Crew attended.

Toc:  0934 hours – Elderly male fallen in bath, need for access to property. Brompton Park, Brompton on Swale, Richmond.  Richmond Crew attended.  Crews entered property through kitchen window and assisted elderly male from the bath.

Toc:  1022 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Sim Balk Lane, Dringhouses. York Crew attended. Cause dust in detector.

Toc:  1031 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Alexandra Court, York.  Acomb Crew attended.  Cause fault on system.

Toc:  1044 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Long Street, Easingwold.  Huntington Crew attended.  Cause insects in detector head.

Toc:  1110 hours – Road Traffic Collision, B1264, Girsby Turnoff.  Northallerton Crews attended.  Road Traffic Collision involving a LGV, Driver out on arrival of Fire Service. Male driver aged approximately 22 years of age suffering from minor injuries, taken to hospital for a precautionary check up.  Crews used dammit paste to soak up fuel spillage.

Toc: 1212 hours – Male fallen on floor, Durham Way, Harrogate.  Harrogate Crews attended. Manpower used to lift him back on the chair.

Toc: 1226 hours – Fire in Stock Room, Retail Premises, Cambridge Street, Harrogate.  Crews from Harrogate attended.  Smoke in stock room, crews isolated electrics and carried out a thorough search using a thermal imaging camera.  Cause believed to be electrical.

Toc:  1228 hours – Smoke in area of Yearsley Swimming Baths, Haleys Terrace, York.  York Crew attended.  Cause of smoke, controlled burning, owner in attendance.

Toc:  1254 hours – Roof on Fire, Commercial Premises, Skipton Road, Harrogate.  Crews from Ripon and Harrogate attended.  Incident involved a fire in roof of premises. Fire started due to workmen using a blow torch causing approximately 12 metres of rafters damaged by the fire along with 7 square metres of tiles damaged when removed.  Crews used 2 thermal imaging cameras, 1 hose reel jet, hand saw and small tools.

Toc:  1425 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, Heslington Road, York. York Crews attended.  Cause of alarm testing the system.

Toc:  1456 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Commercial Premises, The Avenue, Nunnington. Crew from Kirkbymoorside attended.  Cause faulty detector head.

Toc:  1515 hours – Grass fire on side of road, Stillington Road, Sutton on the Forest.  Crew from Huntington attended.  Cause dropped light, 1 hose reel used.

Toc:  1536 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Eastgate, Seamer.  Scarborough Crew attended, cause of alarm, maintenance on system.

Toc:  1544 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Wandales Court, Burniston.  Crew from Scarborough attended.  Cause of alarm cooking fumes.

Toc: 1549 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Malpas Road, Northallerton.  Northallerton Crew attended. Cause testing of alarm.

Toc:  1609 hours – Smoke drifting across road, Reeth Road, Richmond.  Richmond Crew attended.  Controlled burning, owner in attendance, no action by Fire Service.

Toc:  1625 hours – Automatic Fire Alarm, Industrial Premises, Selby Road, Whitley, Selby.  Selby Crews attended.  Cause of Alarm overheated detectors.
