Incident Summary Day Shift 21st April

20th April 2016

Late fire call – Lawnfield Road, Bishop Monkton

Time of call: 08:23

A call was received from an elderly lady who stated that she had a pan fire last night and her kitchen was full of smoke, she managed to remove the pan and ventilate the property but didn’t ring the fire service until this morning.  An appliance from Ripon was mobilised to go and check the property over, check the smoke alarms and give some fire safety advice.  Remember if you have a fire please ring 999 and ask for the fire service.

 

Child locked in vehicle – Station Road, Thirsk

Time of call: 08:38

An appliance Thirsk attended and released the infant from the vehicle using small tools.

  

Road traffic collision – Duggleby, Malton

Time of call: 08:58

Appliances Malton and Sherburn attended an incident which involved 1 vehicle; crews administered first aid to the occupants of the vehicle prior to the arrival of the ambulance service.

  

Residential Fire – Allington Drive, York

Time of call: 13:32

Appliances from York and Huntington attended this incident; crews used 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose real jets to extinguish the fire which was in the bedroom. 

 

  Commercial premises fire – Standard Way, Northallerton

Time of call: 15:00

Both appliances from Northallerton attended a fire at a commercial premises in Northallerton.  A three storey dust extraction unit had caught alight and crews used 2 hose reel jets and 2 main jets to extinguish. 

 

 

Barn Fire – Westgate Carr Road, Pickering

Time of call: 15:53

Appliances from Pickering and Malton attended a barn on fire which was approximately 20 meters by 5 meters.  Crews used a light portable pump to establish a water supply from a nearby beck and currently have 2 jets trying to extinguish the fire.
