Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 28th August


Daleside Road, Farndale West, Kirkbymoorside

Barn Fire

Time: 0746

Crews from Danby, Helmsley, Pickering, Lythe, Kirkbymoorside and a water bowser from Boroughbridge attended a barn fire. There were multiple buildings on fire measuring approx. 30m x 25m containing straw bales, wood sheeting and small vehicles. There are no livestock or chemicals involved in this incident. Command support has been established and crews, together with assistance from the farmer and his machinery have moved the bales to an adjacent location to burn out safely. At this time there has been no cause determined and firefighting operations are ongoing. Further updates to follow.


A19 Brayton, Selby


Time: 0838

Crews from Selby and Acomb responded to a Police notification of a single vehicle RTC. They attended and found that there had been 3 males inside the vehicle which had lost control. 2 of the males, the driver and front seat passenger were out of the vehicle upon arrival and being treated by paramedics. The third male, a rear passenger was released by crews using cutting gear and all 3 were transported to hospital via road ambulance.


Sussex Way, Strensall, York


Time: 1430

Crews from Acomb and Huntington attended an automatic fire alarm activation with no response from the occupier passed to Control by the alarm monitoring company. They found that this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
