Incident Summary Day Shift Mon 31st

31st October 2016

 A19 North Bound between Thirsk and South Kilvington  Time of call: 10:07

 Fire crews from Northallerton and Thirsk responded to reports of a wagon fire just north of Thirsk. However this was a false alarm caused by an engine blow out. No fire was involved.

 Carlton Towers, High Street, Carlton  Time of call: 11:15

 Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a bin fire on the grounds of Carlton Towers. Crews extinguished a wheelie bin that had set fire due to hot ashes inside.

Front Street, Appleton Wiske  Time of call: 19:17

Fire crews from Northallerton responded to a chimney fire, fire was extinguished using chimney rods. Fire was caused due to an accumulation of soot.

 Saltersgate Bank, Lockton, Pickering  Time of call: 19:25

 Fire crews from Pickering assisted Police with the securing of a vehicle following an RTC. However female driver, although not trapped, had incurred neck injuries. Fire crews administered first aid until arrival of Ambulance crews

Low Poppleton Lane, York  Time of call 20:09

 Fire crews responded to a small fire in an industrial estate. A faulty component on a Sugar boiling machine is believed to have caused the fire. Fire was very minor and was out on arrival of the Fire crews, however they used a co2 extinguisher to cool the component

 Knaresborough Road, Harrogate. Time of call 20:36

Fire crews from Harrogate responded to a bag of rubbish on fire. Cause believed to be deliberate. Crews used one hose reel
