Round up of incidents for Day Shift Monday 4th April

False Alarm – Huntington Road, York

Time of call: 1010 hours

An officer attended reports of a smell of gas from some garages on Huntington Road. Upon attending a full external inspection was carried out. Advice was given to contact the council and properly ventilate the property.

Van Fire – A170 Kirkbymoorside

Time of call: 1022 hours

Crews from Kirkbymoorside and Pickering were called to a van on fire on the A170 near the football ground.

RTC – A1237, Clifton Moor, York

Time of call: 1256

Crews from Huntington and Acomb have attended reports of a 2 vehicle RTC. They found that all persons were out of the vehicles upon arival. Crews administered first aid to a female aged in her 20’s for neck, chest and back pain and a toddler with minor head injuries. Both casualties were taken to hospital via road ambulance.

Rescue – Museum Street, York

Time of call: 1259

York crews attended reports of a couple of young males trapped on top of some old Abbey ruins after climbing up. The weather had turned and had become slippy underfoot. Crews rescued them using a 13.5 metre ladder.

False Alarm – Grove Park Terrace, Harrogate

Time of call: 1347

Crews from Harrogate attended sightings of smoke in the area. They found this to be a false alarm due to controlled buning.

False Alarm – Stakesby Road, Whitby

Time of call: 1509

Crews from Whitby attended an automatic fire alarm activation with no response from an elderly occupant. Upon arriving they found that the occupant had been out and that this was a false alarm due to a system fault.

RTC – A1, Boroughbridge

Time of call: 1638

Crews from Harrogate, Boroughbridge and Ripon attended a report from the Police of an RTC on the A1 northbound near Boroughbridge (junction 48). They found that there were no casualties trapped. Crews stood by whilst casualties were assessed by paramedics.
