Incident Summary – Day Shift Friday 8th July

Stillington Road, Nr Easingwold

Fire fighters responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving 4 cars. Upon their arrival they discovered one male was trapped in a vehicle.  Crews worked with paramedics and released him using hydraulic cutting gear. Vehicles were made safe by crews. A further female was transported to hospital by road ambulance.

High Street, Northallerton

Fire crews from Northallerton attended reports of a smell of smoke in a commercial premises. When crews arrived they fully investigated the premises and were able to confirm there had been a small fire in a light fitting. The fire was out on arrival, crews used a thermal imaging camera to check the premises and ensure it was safe. The fire is believed to have started due to a faulty light fitting.

Scott Road, Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a fire alarm sounding at a leisure centre on Scott Road.  When crews arrived they investigated the cause of the alarm. They were able to confirm there was no fire at the property. They then confirmed the alarm had been activated due to steam from the sauna at the property. Crews gave advice to staff at the premises.

Swinton, Malton

Fire crews from Malton responded to reports of a washing machine on fire at a domestic premises. When crews arrived they were able to inspect the machine and remove it to open air. The machine had overheated and was not on fire. Crews gave advice however no further action was required.

Cowling Nr Skipton

Fire crews from Skipton attended a domestic property in Cowling that had a leak involving hot water that was affecting electrics. Fire crews were able to access the property and isolate the leak.

Crews isolated the electrics and carried out salvage work.
