Incident Summary Day Shift August 8th

 

Main Street, East Lutton – Fire in Corn Dryer

 

Appliances from Sherburn and Scarborough attended the incident which involved fire to a grain dryer. The fire caused 25% fire damage to the grain dryer. Crews used 2 hose reels to extinguish the fire.

 

A59, Starbeck, Harrogate – Two Vehicle Road Traffic Collision

 

Two Harrogate appliances attended a wo vehicle road traffic collisions. Crews released one Male from vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment. The male was then passed into the care of paramedics.

 

Hornbeam Park Avenue, Harrogate – Fire to Straw bales

 

Knaresborough crews attended 2 straw bales which were well alight, crews have used beaters and buckets of water to extinguish the fire

 

 

Lackon Bank, Birstwith – Single Vehicle Road Traffic Collision

 

Incident involved a large branch that had fallen from tree, part of the branch landed on a passing vehicle. The female driver of the vehicle was out on arrival of the Fire Service and had suffered no injuries. Part of the branch had also fallen onto an electricity substation, however there is believed to have been no damage, northern power grid have been requested to inspect the substation.

 

Grange Garth, York – Dangerous structure

 

Incident involved a large branch which had broken free and was being supported by a telephone wire. York appliance stood by until arrival of council to remove branch

 

Road between Great Busby and Kirkby – False alarm good intent

 

Call received to reports of a fire to combine harvester. Crews from Northallerton and Coulby Newham attended the incident and located one combine with an overheated bearing no fire to vehicle.

 

George Hudson Street , York – False Alarm Good Intent

 

Reports of smoke issuing from bin, crews attended and found no sign of smoke or fire.

 

West Pier Scabrorough,  False alarm good intent

 

Reports of a bin fire. Scarborough crews attended the incident and located one smoking cigarette which had been mistaken for a fire in the bin
