Incidents on Saturday 9th April Day Shift

Pan Fire – Commercial Premises, High Street, Northallerton

Time of call: 09:42

Two appliances from Northallerton attended a chip pan fire at a commercial premises on the High Street, the fire was out on arrival and crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan to help clear the premises of any remaining smoke. 

Pile of hay smouldering – Station Road, Scalby

Time of call: 10:17

Both Scarborough appliances attended and extinguished a small pile of hay inside a barn, crews have turned over the hay and doused with a hose reel jet. 

Sheep Rescue – River Ure, Near Alburgh Hall

Time of call: 13:59

A fire officer and an appliance from Ripon attended this incident after reports of a sheep stranded in the river came through to Fire Control.  Upon attendance crews liaised with the farmer who stated that he had already rescued the sheep prior to our attendance.

Road Traffic Collision – Sutton under Whitestonecliffe

Time of call: 14:27

Fire crews from Thirsk and Easingwold attended this incident which was a two vehicle road traffic collision.  Crews extricated an elderly male who was suffering back pain by performing a full roof removal.  Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, stabilisation gear, small tools and sharps protection.
