Incident Summary – Day Shift Friday 14th April


Road traffic collision – B6267, near Kirklington

Time of call: 0727 hours

Crews from Ripon and Masham have attended a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Vauxhall which had left the road and over turned. Fortunately no persons were trapped in the vehicle however 1 male has been taken to hospital with minor leg injuries and 1 female suffered minor injuries. No action taken by fire crews. Incident left with Police.


False alarm – Water Lane, York

Time of call: 0739 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam.


Road traffic collision – A6055, Arkendale

Time of call: 0948 hours

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough have dealt with a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Toyota Yaris. No persons trapped. 1 male taken to hospital with a minor arm injury. Crew made vehicle and scene safe using hand tools.


Lift rescue - High Street, Skipton

Time of call: 1037 hours

A crew from Skipton has been called to a lady and child stuck in a lift in a commercial property. They were out on our arrival. Advice given to site manager.


Chimney fire – Sedbury Park Road, Gilling West

Time of call: 1402 hours

A crew from Richmond has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of debris and the crew used a squeezy bottle and hearth kit to extinguish


River rescue – River Ouse, York

Time of call: 1408 hours

A crew from York has been called to assist with a male in the River Ouse. The male was out of the river on our arrival. The incident was left with the Police to deal with.


Grass fire – Shipton Road, Rawcliffe

Time of call: 1607 hours

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a make shift den on fire in woodland, complete with decking and chairs. The whole of the den was destroyed by fire. The cause is believed to be accidental – spread from a bonfire and the crew used 1 hosereel to extinguish it.
