Lift release – Elder Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 0947 hours

A crew from Northallerton has rescued a female from a stalled lift car in a commercial property. The female was uninjured and crews used manpower to lower the lift to the ground floor.

 

Gas leak – Middleton Road, York

Time of call: 1111 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have been called to reports of a gas leak outside a residential property. It is believed a gas pipe was severed on the driveway during building work. Fire crews isolated the gas supply and stood by until the arrival of Northern Gas.

 

False alarm – Hambleton Grove, Knaresborough

Time of call: 1120 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to investigate smoke in the area. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

 

False alarm – Leeming Lane South, Catterick Garrison

Time of call: 1143 hours

A crew from Richmond has investigated a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detector.

 

Oven fire – Monument Close, York

Time of call: 1146 hours

Crews from Huntington and York have been called to a fire on a hob in the kitchen of a ground floor flat in a 4 storey block. A plastic biscuit tin was damaged by fire and there was light smoke damage to the property. The cause is believed to be careless use of the hob.

 

False alarm – Heslington Road, York

Time of call: 1151 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

 

Bin fire – St Johns Crescent, Harrogate

Time of call: 1211 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to a bin fire at a residential property. The wheelie bin was destroyed by fire and part of an adjacent garden shed was also damaged. The cause is believed to be discarded cigarettes and the crew used 1 hosereel jet.

 

Lift rescue – Lumley Close, Thirsk

Time of call: 1440 hours

A crew from Thirsk has rescued a young female from a stalled lift car in a commercial property. The female was released uninjured and crews used hand tools.

 

False alarm – Tadcaster Road, York

Time of call 1524 hours

Crews from York and Acomb have been called to reports of a fire in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Scalby Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1550 hours

Two crews from Scarborough have been called to reports of a building on fire. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning used supervision.
