Road traffic collision – A19, Riccall

Time of call: 0756 hours

A crew from Selby has dealt with a single vehicle road traffic collision. The Land Rover Freelander had collided with a lamp post and the female driver was trapped in the car due to a damaged door. Fire crews used hydraulic spreaders to release the driver who suffered a minor shoulder injury and was left in the care of paramedics.

House fire – Main Street, Ripley

Time of call: 0946 hours

Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough and Summerbridge have been called to a fire in the wall cavity of a 3 storey detached domestic property. Approximately 4 sqm of damage was caused to the cavity insulation. 1 male worker on site suffered slight smoke in halation but did not require hospital treatment. Fire crews used 1 hosereel jet, a thermal imaging camera and various hand tools. The cause is believed to be radiated heat from a soldering iron.

False alarm – Malpas Road, Northallerton

Time of call: 1004 hours

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False alarm – Station Avenue, Filey

Time of call: 1316 hours

A crew from Filey has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector.

False alarm – St Lukes Close, Harrogate

Time of call: 1538 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of a fire in a wooded area. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

False alarm - Riverside Close, Barlby

Time of call: 1643 hours

A crew from Selby has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
