Incident Summary for day Shift 6th May

Round up of incidents – Day Shift Friday 6th May

Flixton, Scarborough

Fire crews from Scarborough and Filey attended reports of a road traffic collision at Flixton. Crews assessed the incident alongside other emergency services. Fire Service action/equipment was not required. The incident was left with Police.

 Kilburn Village Nr Thirsk

Fire crews from Thirsk and Easingwold attended reports of a large industrial front loading tractor on fire near Kilburn. When the crews arrived they discovered the vehicle was well alight.  Fire crews used 1 hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

 Burnt Yates Nr Harrogate

Fire crew from Harrogate attended reports of a smoke alarm sounding in domestic premises. Crews inspected the property and confirmed there to be no fire. The alarms had been activated due to fumes from the occupants cooking.

Advice given, no further action by fire crew.

 Wigginton Road, York

Fire crews from York attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at commercial premises on Wigginton Road.  When crews arrived and investigated they were able to confirm there was no fire. The alarms were activated due to poor maintenance of alarm detector heads. Advice given, no further action by fire crews required.

 York Railway Station, Station Road, York

Fire crews from York attended York Railway Station to reports of 2 males stuck in a lift. Both males were released from lift by fire crews; they were both unharmed by their ordeal. No further action required.

 Innovation Way, Huntington

Fire crews from York attended reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. When crews arrived they were able to confirm there to be no fire. Further investigation confirmed that the alarm had sounded due to steam entering the alarm system. No further action required by fire crew, advice given to occupants.  

Rombalds  Drive, Skipton

Fire crews from Skipton attended reports of a smoke alarm sounding. When crews arrived they were able to confirm the alarm to have been activated due to fumes from cooking. Crews gave advice.

 Micklegate Selby

Fire crews from Selby attended reports of a bin fire in Micklegate. When crews arrived, they ensured the fire was extinguished. Full inspection carried out. No further action required.

 Junc.  B1263 & A167  Nr Plantation House, East Cowton

Fire crews from Northallerton and Richmond were mobilised to reports of a road traffic collision. When crews arrived at scene they were able to confirm there were 2 vehicles involved with one casualty trapped. Crews worked at scene alongside paramedics and police. Hydraulic cutting gear was used to assist in releasing casualty. The female casualty was transported to hospital by road ambulance.
