Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 11th February 2019

11th February 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time of call: 06:25 Catterick Garrison
Crews from Colburn, Richmond, Bedale and Leyburn and two Fire Officers were in attendance at a fire to a bungalow. At this incident they required assistance of an Aerial Ladder Platform and this was sent from Darlington and Durham Fire and Rescue Service along with its supporting appliance. Crews used 4 hose reel jets, 3 main jets, along with thermal imaging cameras, ladders and small tools.  The fire caused signifciant damage to the property. The Red Cross attended to provide support to the occupiers of the property. The cause is believed to be accidental.

Time of call: 07:28 Bedale
A crew from Masham were called to assist with gaining entry to allow access for the ambulance service to attend to a female who had fallen at home.  Crews used a door breaker to gain entry and left the female in the care of the paramedics.


Time of call: 09:05 Selby

A crew from Selby were called to a report from a gas engineer of a gas leak inside a domestic property. Crews gained entry for engineer who then isolated the leak and ventilated the property.  

Time of call: 09:58 Willow Beck Road, Northallerton
A crew from Northallerton were called to a report of a 2 year old child locked inside a car. Crews gained access using small tools and left child in care of parent.


Time of call: 11:23 Scrayingham, Malton

A crew from Malton were called to some controlled burning that had then spread to conifer trees. The fire to the trees  was out on Fire Service arrival and crews assisted by dampening down the surrounding areas with a hose reel jet.

Time of call: 13:31 Millgate, Selby
Crews from Selby were called to a report of a fire that possibly contained gas cylinders. The fire did not contain cylinders and was controlled burning. This was extinguished using a hose reel.

 

Time of call: 15:18 Sherburn, Malton

Crews from Scarborough were called to a fire in a residential property. This was a fire to an extractor fan which was out on Fire Service arrival. Crews used a positive pressure ventilator to clear smoke from the property and provided oxygen therapy to a dog that was in the property at the time.

 

 We also attended reports of an Automatic Fire Alarm activation in Richmond and in Acomb. These were false alarms.
