Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 16h July 2018

15th July 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

We also attended a number of fire alarm activations during the shift which turned out to be a false alarms.

Domestic garage fire – Cayton, Scarborough

Time of call: 11:18

Appliances from Filey, Scarborough and Whitby attended this incident which was a fire that started in a domestic garage and then spread to various other rooms on the ground floor of the property, crews used 6 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 main jet, a short extension ladder, a 9m ladder and small tools.  Crews remained on scene until 14:24 damping down hotspots and undertaking fire investigation.

Workshop fire – Bransby, York

Time of call: 12:23

Appliances from Easingwold and Northallerton attended this incident which was a fire in a workshop building, crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Fire in roof space – Norton, Malton

Time of call: 14:50

Appliances from Malton, Scarborough and York attended this incident which was reported as a fire in the roof space of a commercial property.  This incident turned out to be a fire within a furnace chimney which spread to some boards in the roof space.  Crews a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and small tools.

Fire in field – Bland Lane, Knapton

Time of call: 15:14

Appliances from Acomb and Tadcaster attended this incident and extinguished a small fire in a field using a hose reel jet. The cause is believed to be reflected sunlight
