Incident Summary Day Shift Monday 18th June 2018

Heslington, York Time of call: 07:51

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by an accidental actuation of a beam detector.

Hopper Hill Road, Scarborough Time of call: 09:27

A crew from Scarborough were called out to a child locked in a car. The crew were able to release the child by breaking a window. The child was unharmed and left with their parent.

A165, Cayton Time of call: 12:58

A crew from Scarborough were called to a fire in the open. The fire was to 10 metres square of grassland, trees and shrubbery. The crew used 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

Sands Lane, Hunmanby Time of call: 14:36

Crews were called to a report of a garage on fire. On arrival, crews found fire involving ivy attached to the garage but this had not spread to the garage itself. The fire was extinguished using a hose pipe and a thermal imaging camera was used to ensure the fire was out.

Hookstone Wood Track, Harrogate Time of call: 14:49

A crew from Harrogate were called to a fire in the open. The crew used hand tools and a knapsack sprayer to extinguish the fire.

Church Fenton, Selby Time of call: 15:43

A crew from Tadcaster responded to a report of a fire in the kitchen of a residential property. The fire was out on arrival.

Sutton Lane, Selby Time of call: 15:56

A crew from Selby and a crew from Pontefract, West Yorkshire were called to a garage fire. The incident is still ongoing.

Cordike Lane, Malton Time of call: 15:58

A crew from Malton were called to a fire in the open. Crews extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet.

Wiggington Road, York Time of call: 16:50

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by steam from an oven.
