False alarm – Chapel Street, Thirsk

Time of call: 0731 hours

A crew from Thirsk has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a fault on the detection system.

Grill pan fire – Birch Grove, Sleights

Time of call: 1257 hours

Crews from Whitby and Lythe have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. On arriving at the bungalow it was discovered there had been a fire in the grill pan. 1 male in the property at the time of the fire suffered slight smoke inhalation and was left in the care of paramedics. The fire was out on arrival and crews carried out an inspection only. The cause was grill pan left unattended.

False alarm – Kings Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1329 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

False alarm – Beulah Terrace, Scarborough

Time of call: 1352 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Animal rescue – Newborough, Scarborough

Time of call: 1441 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to reports of a seagull trapped in netting on the side of a building. Unfortunately the bird was deceased and was left with onsite staff. No equipment used.

False alarm – Sandybed Lane, Scabrough

Time of call: 1448 hours

A crew from Scarborough has been called to reports of a fire in the rear garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

Ring removal – Scarborough Fire Station

Time of call: 1621 hours

A female entered Scarborough Fire Station with a ring stuck on her finger. Crews used ring cutters to remove the ring.
