Incident Summary – Day Shift 14th July

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Victoria Place , Whitby – Time of Call 09:06

Whitby appliance attended reports of a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm due to smoke from controlled burning entering the building

Filey – Time of Call 09:45

Filey appliance have attended reports of a fire alarm sounding this was a false alarm due to cooking fumes

Malton – Time of Call 10:43

Malton appliance attended reports of a fire in an incinerator this was controlled burning. The occupant extinguished the fire themselves using a hose reel and crews gave advice

Roxby near Whitby – Time of Call 12:22

Lythe and Danby crews attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision.

Preston Under Scar – Time of Call 12:40

Leyburn and Reeth crews have attended a fire to approximately  16 sqm of Hay. They extinguished the fire using 1 Hose Reel and hand tools

Richmond – Time of Call 12:55

Richmond crews attended reports of a small bonfire in the open. Crews attended and extinguished using one bucket of water

Osmotherley – Time of Call 13:30

Northallerton, Thirsk and Darlington crews have attended reports of smoke issuing from the roof of a property. On attendance crews found this to be from a chimney fire. Crews extinguished the chimney fire using ladders, chimney roads and a hose reel.

Grosvenor Terrace, York – Time of Call 13:56

Acomb crews attended a bin fire, this is believed to have been caused by a dropped light and used one hose reel jet to extinguish.

Westbank, York – Time of Call 14:38

Acomb attended reports of a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm caused by a system fault.

Riccall, Selby – Time of Call 14:45

Selby crews attended a fire alarm sounding, this was a false alarm caused by dust from workmen.

Masham – Time of call 15:32

Masham appliance responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding, on arrival crews located a small fire in the cooker and requested a second appliance attend. The fire was out on arrival of fire service, 1 male was led to safety by crews but was uninjured. Crews used a Positive Pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property.

Sandy Lane, Flaxton – Time of Call 16:28

Malton crews attended a fire to approx. 25sqm of hedgerow. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel
