Incident Summary – Day Shift Saturday 16th December 2017

 

House fire – Fitzalan Road, Bedale

Time of call: 0725 hours

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton have dealt with a fire in a residential property. The fire started in an aquarium cabinet and has caused fire damage to the wiring for an aquarium, a gecko cage and a heat pad for a naked guinea pig. Fire damage was also caused to the cabinet and adjacent wall. The ground floor and first floor of the property suffered smoke damage. The fire caused the aquarium on top of the cabinet to crack and water leaked down on to the fire and extinguished it. Crews administered oxygen to the gecko and naked guinea pig. A number of fish were fatal. The cause is believed to be an electrical fault and crew used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hosereel.

 

False alarm - Swan Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 0742 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault in the detection system.

 

Assist Ambulance – Union Street, Filey

Time of call: 0835 hours

A crew from Filey has assisted paramedics to transfer a female patient from a first floor flat, down some precarious metal stairs to an ambulance.  Manpower only used.

 

Assistance (non emergency) – Fifth Avenue, York

Time of call: 0933 hours

A crew from York has been called to assist carers with a female who had fallen from bed and spent the night on the floor. The carers were unable to move the female to a safe and comfortable position on the bed. Crew used manpower only.

 

False alarm – Osbaldwick Lane, York

Time of call: 1313 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

False alarm – Main Street, Little Ouseburn

Time of call: 1319 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Assist Ambulance – Frenchgate, Richmond

Time of call: 1352 hours

A crew from Colburn has assisted paramedics to transfer a male patient from a residential property to an Ambulance. Manpower only used.

 

False alarm - Flints Terrace, Richmond

Time of call: 1550 hours

A crew from Colburn has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.
