Incident Summary – Day Shift Saturday 1st September

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

False alarm – off Fulford Road, York

Time of call: 0737 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

 

Rescue – Kellington

Time of call: 0942 hours

Crews from Selby have been called to reports of a male stuck in between a wall and a steam roller. Male was released prior to our arrival. Fire crews administered first aid until arrival of ambulance. Male taken to hospital for a precautionary check up.

 

Effect entry – High Street, Harrogate

Time of call: 1153 hours

A crew from Harrogate has gained entry to a bedroom in a residential property after the resident became trapped due to a faulty lock mechanism. Crew used small tools.

 

False alarm – Hessay

Time of call: 1200 hours

A crew from Acomb has been called to reports of a rubbish fire in a field. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

 

Baler fire – Levisham

Time of call: 1206 hours

Crews from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and volunteers from Goathland have dealt with a baler on fire in a field of cut straw approx. 100m by 15m. Baler was totally destroyed by fire. Crew extinguished using 2 hosereel jets, high pressure lance, beaters and breathing apparatus.

 

False alarm – Granby Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1217 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alar activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

 

Small fire – A59, Poppleton

Time of call: 1223 hours

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a fire in a field approx. 50m by 25m. Crew used 1 hosereel jet and beaters. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

Road traffic collision – junction Boroughbridge road & A61, Ripon

Time of call: 1229 hours

Crews from Summerbridge and Ripon have dealt with a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle. Crew carried out first aid until arrival of ambulance. 1 male taken to hospital by road ambulance with non life threatening injuries.

 

Lift rescue – Cambridge Street, Harrogate

Time of call: 1241 hours

A crew from Harrogate has rescued a 1 male and 1 female from a lift in a commercial property. Both occupants were uninjured. Crew used lift keys.

 

False alarm – Kirk Deighton

Time of call: 1250 hours

A crew from Wetherby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 

Small fire – Leathley

Time of call: 1443 hours

2 crews from Harrogate have dealt with a 30m by 30m area of gorse and grassland on fire. Crews used 2 hosereel jets, beaters and knapsack sprayers. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 

Bin fire – Bootham, York

Time of call: 1453 hours

A crew from York has dealt with a cigarette bin on fire attached to a commercial property. Crew used buckets of water. The cause is believed to be accidental.

 

False alarm – Lythe

Time of call: 1459 hours

A crew from Lythe has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault.

 

Vehicle fire – High Street, Northallerton

Time of call: 1511 hours

A crew from Northallerton has dealt with a small fire involving a gas stove inside a VW camper van. Damage was limited to the stove only. The fire was out on our arrival. Crew carried out a full inspection only. The cause is believed to be stove left unattended.

 

Road traffic collision – The Mount, York

Time of call: 1518 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have dealt with a single vehicle road traffic collision. 1 female was out of the vehicle on our arrival. Crews administered first aid until arrival of ambulance and made the scene safe. Female taken to hospital with minor injuries.

 

Shed fire – Ashwood Drive, Stokesley

Time of call: 1650 hours

A crew from Stokesely is currently dealing with a shed fire at a domestic property. 2 hosereels in use.

Field fire – Quarry Moor, Ripon

Time of call: 1653 hours

2 crews from Ripon are currently dealing with an underground insulation pipe approx. 20m by 20m on fire in a field. 1 small hose in use.
