Incident Summary Day Shift Saturday 5th May 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

During the night we attended a number of automatic fire alarms that all turned out to be false alarms.

Kitchen fire – Railway Street, Malton

Time of call: 09:47

Appliances from Malton attended this incident and extinguished a fire in the kitchen using 4 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets.

Tumble dryer fire in open – Wetherby Road, Boroughbridge

Time of call: 11:42

An appliance from Boroughbridge attended this incident which was a washing machine which had been removed to the outside, crews damped down the tumble dryer using a hose reel jet.

Vehicle fire – Cold Bath Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 11:47

An appliance from Harrogate attended but this fire was out on arrival.

Portakabin fire – Sherburn-in-Elmet

Time of call: 12:36

Appliances from Tadcaster and Selby attended this incident and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Fire in the open – Scarborough

Time of call: 15:23

An appliance from Scarborough attended this incident and extinguished the using a hose reel jet.

Cylinder fire – Dringhouses, York

Time of call: 15:57

Appliances from Acomb and York attended this incident and allowed the cylinder to vent off before cooling the cylinder and making it safe.
