Gain entry – Gale Lane, York

Time of call: 0740 hours

A crew from Acomb has gained entry to a residential property after the female occupant locked herself out. The crew used a lock snapper to gain entry via the front door.

 

False alarm – Bell Close, Seamer, Scarborough

Time of call: 1052 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to insect repellent spray.

 

False alarm – Sandbeck, Richmond

Time of call: 1158 hours

Crews from Richmond and Leyburn have been called to reports of a bus on fire on a bridge. This was a false alarm due to a possible engine failure. Inspection only by fire crews.

 

Ring removal – Tewit Well Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1221 hours

A crew from Harrogate has removed a ring from the finger of an elderly lady which had become stuck due to age related swelling. Ice was used to reduce the swelling and ring cutters used to remove the ring.

 

Road traffic collision – A1 southbound between Leeming Bar and Baldersby

Time of call: 1300 hours

A crew from Northallerton was mobilised to a single vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped in the car and our services were not required. Incident was left with Police.

 

Rescue – Paragon Street, York

Time of call: 1312 hours

A crew from York has rescued a 9 year old boy after he became trapped by the leeg between a stone pillar and a wall. Manpower was used to release the boy who was left in the care of a paramedic.

 

False alarm – St Nicholas Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1426 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a system fault.

 

False alarm – A1 southbound between Boroughbridge and Allerton Park

Time of call: 1510 hours

A crew from Boroughbridge has responded to reports of a car fire. This was a false alarm and involved a Volvo with an engine malfunction which produced a cloud of smoke.
