Chimney fire – High Street, Gilling West

Time of call: 0653 hours

A crew from Richmond has dealt with a chimney fire in a domestic property. This was caused by a birds nest blocking the flue. Chimney kit and a 9m ladder were used.

False alarm – Ebor Court, Selby

Time of call: 0829 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

False alarm – Dalton Terrace, York

Time of call: 0837 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

False alarm – Forest Lane, Harrogate

Time of call: 0933 hours

A crew from Selby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an aerosol spray.

Person locked out – Greenfield Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough has gained access to a residential property after the elderly resident became locked out due to a broken lock. A temporary repair was made until a locksmith can attend.

Crews from York, Acomb and Huntington have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a steam produced during a manufacturing process.

Make safe – St Hildas Street, Sherburn

Time of call: 1207 hours

Crews from Sherburn and Scarborough have isolated a central heating boiler in a residential property after fumes from a kerosene leak made the elderly occupant feel unwell. Ambulance crew gave the male a precautionary check up on scene but he did not go to hospital.

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Colliergate, York

Time of call: 1350 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of a manual call point.

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

Cooker fire – Dodsworth Avenue, York

Time of call: 1554 hours

A crew from Huntington has dealt with a fire on a cooker hob in a residential property. Damage was limited to food in the pan only. Crew ventilated smoke from the property. The cause was a pan left unattended.
