False alarm – Bilsdale Close, Romanby

Time of call: 1016 hours

Crews from Northallerton were called to reports of an automatic fire alarm at a residential property on Bilsdale Close in Romanby. Upon arrival they found that this was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector.

False alarm – Low Poppleton Lane, York

Time of call: 1034 hours

Crews from York were called to reports of an automatic fire alarm at a commercial property on Low Poppleton Lane, York. Crews found that this was a false alarm caused by workmen in the premises.

Chimney Fire – The Avenue, Malton

Time of call: 1350 hours

Crews from Malton were called to reports of a chimney fire at a residential property on The Avenue, Norton. Upon attending they found that the chimney was well alight. Crews extinguished using a hearth kit and thermal imaging camera. Cause is believed to be due to an accumulation of soot.

Bland Cliff, Scarborough

Time of call: 1436 hours

Crews from Scarborough attended reports of a fire in the open, sighted from West Pier. Crews from Scarborough attended and found that this was a false alarm and was actually controlled burning under supervision.

Fire – Strensall Common, Strensall

Time of call: 1632 hours

Crews from Huntington were called to reports of a fire to a hut on Strensall Common. They found that the fire was out on arrival.
