False alarm – Newton le Willows

Time of call: 1044 hours

A crew from Bedale has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental damage to a break glass point.

 

False alarm – Belmont Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1115 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Animal rescue – Doncaster Road, Selby

Time of call: 1245 hours

A crew from Selby has been requested by the RSPCA to rescue a cat stuck up a telegraph pole. The crew used a 9m ladder to rescue the cat which was left uninjured and in the care of the RSPCA.

 

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 1311 hours

A crew from York has been called to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 

Garage fire – Long Street, Easingwold

Time of call: 1443 hours

Crews from Easingwold and Thirsk have been called to a fire in the middle garage of 3 within a wooden structure approx. 10m by 5m. Resulted in severe fire, heat and smoke damage to all 3 garages and contents which included motorbikes, quad bikes, logging equipment and a log supply. Crews used 6 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereel jets, thermal imaging camera, lighting and hand tools used. The cause is believed to be a fault on an electrical vehicle battery charger.

 

Cooker fire – Jubilee Terrace, York

Time of call: 1541 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have dealt with an oven fire in a ground floor flat in a converted 2 storey property. Fire damage was limited to accumulated grease in the bottom of the oven. Crews opened windows to ventilate the property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of grease which overheated.
