False alarm – Yan Brow, Hutton le Hole

Time of call: 0757 hours

A crew from Kirkbymoorside has dealt with an over heated engine which was smoking. The Ford Fiesta had suffered a blown gasket. 1 hosereel was used.

 False alarm – Hansom Place, York

Time of call: 1253 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.

 House fire – Beatswell Lawn, North Stainley

Time of call: 1303 hours

A crew from Ripon has dealt with a small fire in a domestic property. The incident involved a lawn mower battery which had been disconnected and left in a ground floor office in a private bungalow. Fire damage was caused to the battery and the surrounding floor. The cause was a defective battery and it was out on arrival of the crew who carried out an inspection only.

 False alarm – Belmont Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1314 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes

 False alarm – Brackenthwaite Lane, Pannal

Time of call: 1352 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to reports of an unsafe electric cable. This was a false alarm as the cable in question was a fully insulated and safe cable on a temporary show ground in a field. No action taken by crew.

 False alarm – The Avenue, Nun Monkton

Time of call: 1427 hours

The boat crew from York and a support officer have been sent to reports of a calf stuck in mud adjacent to the River Ouse between Poppleton and Beningbrough. A full search of the river bank was carried out but no calf was located.

 Barn fire – Main Street, Bulmer   ** This incident is ongoing **

Time of call: 1449 hours

4 fire engines from Malton, Huntington and Acomb, along with the water bowser from Boroughbridge, have tackled a barn fire. The incident involved approximately 500 bales of straw inside a barn and adjacent to a Grade II listed building. Crews are using a water curtain, ground monitor and a main jet to tackle the blaze.

 False alarm – Blossomgate, Ripon

Time of call: 1454 hours

A crew from Ripon has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 False alarm – James Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1651 hours       

A crew from Scarborough has been called to reports of smoke in the area. This was a false alarm due to excessive smoke from a recently lit fire. The crew used a thermal imaging camera to carry out a precautionary inspection and gave advice to the occupier.
