Effect entry – Gillingwood Road, York

Time of call: 1153 hours

A crew from Huntington has gained entry to a residential property after the elderly resident locked herself out.

 

High Street, Skipton

Time of call: 1222 hours

2 crews from Skipton have been called to reports of smoke in a ground floor shop. A full inspection was carried out which discovered fire damage to a light fitting. The fire was out on arrival but a thermal imaging camera was used for inspection purposes.  The cause is believed to be an electrical fault.

 

Animal rescue – Front Street, Appleton Wiske

Time of call: 1254 hours

A crew from Northallerton has rescued a Jack Daw from the chimney of a residential property. The crew used a 9m ladder to access the chimney, then removed a wire cowl to release the bird uninjured.

 

Water leak – East Park Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1304 hours

A crew from Harrogate has been called to a water leak in a residential property. The water was coming from a leak on the toilet. Crew isolated water supply and gave advice to the occupier.

 

Road traffic collision – Stainsacre Lane, Whitby

Time of call: 1410 hours

Crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay have been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Vauxhall Vivaro van which had collided with railings on a pedestrian island. No persons trapped. Fire crews assisted with stabilising the vehicle, making the scene safe and assisting paramedics.

 

Animal rescue – Askham Bryan

Time of call: 1423 hours

A fire engine and a aerial ladder platform from Huntington have been called to rescue a Snowy Owl from a falconry display which had become tangled by its jess in a tree. The aerial ladder platform was used to transport the birds keeper up to the branch to rescue it.

 

False alarm – Sitwell Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1531 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

 

False alarm – Queen Street, Scarborough

Time of call: 1541 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a bath.

 

Rescue from height – Museum Gardens, York

Time of call: 1602 hours

A crew from York has rescued an 8 year old boy who had become stuck approximately 10ft up on ruins. He was rescued uninjured by crew using a 9m ladder.
