Road traffic collision – Allerston, near Pickering

Time of call: 0910 hours

A crew from Pickering have assisted at a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car which had left the road and collided with a hedge. Crew moved the vehicle back to the road to allow the disabled driver to continue his journey. No injuries.

 

False alarm – Shipton Road, Rawcliffe

Time of call: 0934 hours

Crews from Acomb and York have investigated reports of smoke coming from a residential property. This was a false alarm due to excessive smoke from a recently lit a wood burning stove.

 

False alarm – North Parade, York

Time of call: 0940 hours

2 crews from Acomb have investigated reports of smoke in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to smoke leaking from a biomass burner. Advice given to occupier.

 

False alarm – Coniston Cold, Skipton

Time of call: 1001 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to steam affecting the detection system.

 

Chimney fire – Kingswood Grove, York

Time of call: 1238 hours

Crews from York and the aerial ladder from Huntington have dealt with a chimney fire in a residential property. The cause is believed to be an accumulation of soot in the chimney from a wood burning stove. Crews used a hose reel, thermal imaging camera and small tools.
