Incident Summary – Day Shift Sunday 9th September

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Road traffic collision – B6265, Cracoe

Time of call: 0900 hours

Crews from Grassington and Skipton have attended a single vehicle road traffic collision. 1 female was out of the vehicle on our arrival. No action taken by fire crews. Incident left with Police & Ambulance.

False alarm – Beulah Terrace, Scarborough

Time of call: 1118 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

False alarm – off School Lane, Heslington

Time of call: 1219 hours

A crew from Acomb responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Road traffic collision – junction A65 and Grassington Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1223 hours

Skipton crew have attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped. Crew made vehicles safe only.

Car fire – A1246, Brotherton

Time of call: 1236 hours

A crew from Selby has attended a duvet on fire in a car. This resulted in slight fire damage to the vehicle interior. The cause is believed to be deliberate. Knapsack sprayers used.

House fire – off Otley Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 1239 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a pan fire in a residential property. This resulted in fire damage to the pan and contents only. Cause believed to be a pan left unattended. 2 breathing apparatus and door breaker used to force entry.

False alarm – Clifford Street, York

Time of call: 1251 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

Fuel spillage – Millfield Glade, Harrogate

Time of call: 1301 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a 4 inch wide oil spillage approx. 20ft long from a car. Crew used shovels and soil to absorb. Highways also requested to attend.

False alarm – Firth Street, Skipton

Time of call: 1258 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

False alarm – off Danesmead Close, York

Time of call: 1434 hours

Crews from York and Acomb have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Car fire – Burton Fleming Lane, Hunmanby

Time of call: 1443 hours

A crew from Scarborough has dealt with a car on fire in a field. The Subaru Forester suffered 100% fire, heat and smoke damage to the whole of the vehicle. The cause is believed to be deliberate. Crew used 1 hosereel jet to extinguish.

False alarm – Regent Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1445 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam.
